Process

This Bachelor thesis explores the intersection of augmented reality (AR) technology, educational methodologies, and cost-effective hardware solutions. Leveraging the benefits of AR, the project aims to enhance learning experiences by contextualizing information through multiple channels, providing learners with immersive and interactive content.

By utilizing the Quest 2, a low-cost head-mounted display (HMD) suitable for multi-user setups, the thesis seeks to overcome barriers to entry in adopting AR technology within educational settings. This choice of hardware enables the creation of collaborative learning environments where multiple users can engage simultaneously, fostering teamwork and knowledge sharing.

The educational approach underpinning the thesis draws from constructivism, emphasizing active learning and the construction of knowledge by learners. By integrating AR technology into educational settings, the project aims to create dynamic and participatory learning environments where students can actively engage with content, manipulate virtual objects, and collaborate with peers to construct their understanding of the subject matter.
